+ Contacting WICA

If you are having problems contacting us please select one of the options below:

+ Sending/Receiving Emails
  • I've sent an email, but haven't got a reply.

We reply to every email we receive, firstly with an autoresponder message, secondly in person. If you haven't received any reply from us at all, then this can only mean that your email provider/software has filtered our message according to anti-spam rules that you may or may not have set. Your email provider/software will do one of three things: reject our message, put it in the spambox, or put it in the trashcan. In the first instance you should always check your spambox and trashcan to see if our email has been sent there. You can also try emailing us with your postal details enclosed, so that we can cantact you by an alternative route.

    + Diploma in Witchcraft Studies

Support information for the Diploma in Witchcraft Studies course. Select one of the options below:

+ Receiving the Course Material by E-mail
    • I cannot read the e-mails.

Your course material and lectures are sent in HTML format. If you cannot read the e-mails we send you then it is likely that you do not have HTML enabled. Most e-mail software and online e-mail accounts are automatically HTML enabled, but you should check your e-mail set-up if you are having problems.

    • The links in the e-mails don't work.

Your e-mail software or provider should automatically activate any links we send you. However, if they do not work, then cut and paste them into your browser window. For HTML embedded links you will need to right click and "copy shortcut", and then paste it into your browser window.

If you use AOL you should be aware that AOL does not support active links in e-mail messages. If you have an AOL account you may have to sign up for another e-mail account. You can get free online e-mail accounts from the following providers:

    • I can't log on to the WICA Campus.

The passwords we send you may be a mix of both letters and numbers. Common mistakes include confusing the letter l with the number 1, and confusing the letter o with the number 0. If you experience any problems logging on please check that you are entering your passwords correctly.

You may also need to check your computer security settings. To log on correctly you must have both JavaScript and Cookies enabled.

    • I can't open the lectures.

Your lectures are in Adobe's PDF format for Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you cannot open the files, then you may not have this software installed. Most computers ship with this software pre-installed, but if you do not have it, then you can download it free of charge from Adobe.

    • I have Adobe, but still can't open the lectures.

If your computer has crashed or experienced any other hardware malfunctions your software may be damaged. In such cases we would advise that you download and re-install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from Adobe. If you are using a very old version of Adobe Acrobat Reader you may also have to upgrade your software. The PDF lecture files are designed to be used on version 4.0 and upwards.

      + E-books (Online and CD-ROM)

Support information for The Enchanted Heart, Witchcraft Chronicles and other electronic publications.

      + System Requirements

You will only need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to access our e-publications. This software is designed to run on virtually any operating system. In most cases this will be pre-installed on your PC. If you require a copy of this software or wish to update your existing copy then visit the Adobe website. If you have any problems opening our e-publications, then check that you are running the most up to date version of the software.

      E-books on CD-ROM
Our CD-ROM e-publications are designed to be run from the CD-ROM and require no installation. However, to be viewed correctly Adobe Acrobat Reader must be installed beforehand. Our CD-ROMs contain a free distribution copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 in English with Search and Accessibility features for Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0 and 2000. To install it you should access the contents of this CD-ROM via Windows Explorer, File Manager, or similar utility. Next double click on the rp500enu.exe application icon and follow on-screen instructions. Mac users can download the latest version from www.adobe.com. For any other queries about Adobe Acrobat Reader visit www.adobe.com.

      + Troubleshooting

Pictures or text will not display properly
Our e-publications use embedded fonts and pictures optimised for use with Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0. Users experiencing any problems displaying fonts or pictures should ensure that they have installed and are running the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

Pictures look pixelated, appear too dark or too light, or appear in colours other than those intended. These porblems are caused by user-side graphics settings and/or monitor calibration. We cannot control your system set-up and you should consult your manual or PC support to resolve user-side problems.

      + Newsletters and E-zines

Our newsletter is sent as an HTML document and requires an HTML capable e-mail client in order to view it correctly. HTML is the language of the internet (this web page is written in it) and is entirely safe to use. Popular programmes like MS Outlook will display HTML messages automatically. Consult your product documentation to find out how to enable HTML messages. In addition, we may also send you plain text messages that require no interpretation to read.
